To provide a light and low-cost drive shaft.SOLUTION: A drive shaft 1 comprises: a first shaft 2; a cylindrical second shaft 3 engaged with the first shaft 2; and a cover member 4 that regulates entry of water into an engaged part. The first shaft 2 is provided with a slide 21 formed by an aluminum metal or a ferrous metal and having a first engaged part 11a constituting one of engaged parts 11 on an inner peripheral surface or an outer peripheral surface, and a drive 22 which is formed by a material different from the aluminum metal or the ferrous metal of the slide 21, and joined to the slide 21 at a joining part 23, and to/from which a driving force is input/output. The second shaft 3 is provided with a second engaged part 11b constituting the other of the engaged parts 11 on an outer peripheral surface or the inner peripheral surface so as to be opposed to and engaged with the first engaged part 11a formed on the inner peripheral surface or the outer peripheral surface of the slide 21 in a radial direction, and the cover member 4 covers the joining part 23.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
