To provide a drive transmission device for an electric vehicle which can smoothly switch a gear change stage by simple hydraulic control and can be compact in dimensions.SOLUTION: A transmission TM comprises a friction-type first engagement device CL1, a friction-type second engagement device CL2, and an engagement-type third engagement device CL3. When at least either of the first engagement device CL1 and the third engagement device CL3 is in an engaged state and the second engagement device CL2 is in a released state, a first gear change stage is formed. When both the first engagement device CL1 and the third engagement device CL3 are in the released state and the second engagement device CL2 is in the engaged state, a second gear change stage is formed. Each of the first engagement device CL1 and the second engagement device CL2 is a normally open engagement device, which is brought into the released state when hydraulic pressure is not being supplied from an oil pump OP.
