To make inductance of bus bars and the like uniform.SOLUTION: In an inverter that has a smoothing capacitor 19 and a plurality of power modules 20, the smoothing capacitor 19 comprises: a plurality of columnar unit capacitors 45 each having electrodes at both ends; a one-end-side bus plate 19c connected with the electrode at one end of each unit capacitor 45; and an other-end-side bus plate 19d connected with the electrode at the other end of each unit capacitor 45. The plurality of unit capacitors 45 are arranged so as to be aligned in a direction perpendicular to an axial direction while their axial directions are in parallel with each other.
