To provide an onboard display device with which, even when there exists on the display surface of a display a reflection of lower luminance level than the luminance level of display image, it is possible to suppress a decrease in visibility due to that.SOLUTION: With this onboard display device, a display surface imaging unit 32 captures an image of the display surface of a display 20 that is in a black display state, and a disturbance luminance estimation unit 12c estimates a disturbance luminance on the basis of the resulting image data and an imaging condition, that is caused by external light and a reflection. A luminance control unit 12d determines a region on the basis of the disturbance luminance, in which luminance control is exercised, and executes the luminance control of the region. Thus, it is possible to estimate a disturbance luminance on the display surface with good accuracy, without being affected by the luminance of the display image, and even when the luminance level of a reflection is low, it is possible to suppress a decrease in visibility due to that.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1

    【課題】ディスプレイの表示面に表示画像の輝度レベルよりも小さい輝度レベルの映り込みが生じている場合でも、これによる視認性低下を抑制可能な車載用表示装置を提供する【解決手段】この車載用表示装置は、表示面撮像部32がディスプレイ20の黒表示状態の表示面を撮像し、外乱輝度推定部12cがその画像データおよび撮像条件に基づいて外光および映り込みに起因する輝度である外乱輝度を推定する。輝度制御部12dは、外乱輝度に基づいて輝度制御を行う領域を決定し、当該領域の輝度制御を実行する。これにより、表示画像の輝度影響を受けることなく、表示面における外乱輝度を精度良く推定でき、映り込みの輝度レベルが小さい場合であっても、これによる視認性低下を抑制できる。【選択図】図1
