To provide a lifting/lowering device capable of changing a height through a simple operation.SOLUTION: A lifting/lowering device 1 includes: a pulley 3; a wire 2 or a cord wound around the pulley 3; a pair of fixing plates 5 capable of fixing the wire 2 or the cord therebetween; an urging member 7 disposed in a state where the pair of fixing plates 5 are brought closer to each other to generate an urging force for fixing the wire 2 or the cord; and an operating portion 6 configured to release fixing of the wire 2 or the cord by pressing the urging member 7 against the urging force through an operation of an operator, thereby separating the pair of fixing plates 5 from each other.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3A
