To safely and quickly evacuate passengers by using a passenger conveyor in the event of a fire.SOLUTION: A passenger conveyor that transports passengers on a tread by moving a plurality of endlessly connected treads in a circular motion comprises: a control unit that controls the circular movement of the plurality of treads; and an input section into which fire information, which is information regarding a fire occurring in a building 100 where the passenger conveyor is installed, is input. The fire information includes floor level information that is information about the floor where the fire is occurring. When fire information is input to the input section, the control unit controls the circular direction of the plurality of treads or stops the circular movement of the plurality of treads so that the passengers on the treads are transported upward or downward based on the floor level information.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2

    【課題】火災が発生した際に、乗客コンベアを利用して乗客を安全且つ迅速に避難させる。【解決手段】無端状に連結された複数の踏段を周回移動させて踏段上の乗客を搬送する乗客コンベアは、複数の踏段の周回移動を制御する制御部と、乗客コンベアが設置された建物100で発生した火災に関する情報である火災情報が入力される入力部と、を備えている。火災情報は、火災が発生した階床に関する情報である階床情報を含む。制御部は、入力部に火災情報が入力されると、階床情報に基づいて、踏段上の乗客を上方に搬送するように、若しくは、踏段上の乗客を下方に搬送するように、複数の踏段の周回方向を制御し、又は、複数の踏段の周回移動を停止させる。【選択図】図2
