To calculate the width, height, and length of a passing object based on input information from only one laser sensor for scanning a fixed predetermined surface.SOLUTION: A passing object information acquisition system (10) includes a laser sensor (20) that scans a fixed predetermined surface (S) passing through a predetermined place (A) and detects each distance (r) to an object in each irradiation direction (θ) of a pulse laser beam, and a calculation unit (20) that calculates size of a passing object (C) based on each distance. The laser sensor is installed at a position higher than an assumed maximum height of the passing object, and is installed so that an intersection line (B) of a ground surface of the predetermined place and the predetermined plane is inclined with respect to a predetermined direction, and a length of the intersection line in a width direction perpendicular to the predetermined direction is longer than an assumed maximum width of the passing object in the width direction. The calculation unit calculates the width of the passing object in the width direction, the height of the passing object, and the length of the passing object in the predetermined direction based on a positional relationship between the ground of the predetermined place and the laser sensor, each irradiation direction, and each distance.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
