To provide a road sign detection device that can accurately detect road signs indicating the direction in which a vehicle can travel.SOLUTION: A road sign detection device includes: a detection unit 31 for detecting, from a first image by a first image capturing unit (2-1), candidate road signs representing directions in which a vehicle 10 can travel; a determination unit 32 for determining whether a recapturing index satisfies predetermined recapturing conditions; and a re-detection unit 33 for determining whether the candidate road signs can be detected from a second image by a second image capturing unit (2-2) different from the first image capturing unit (2-1), or a third image generated by the first image capturing unit (2-1) at a timing different from that at which the first image was generated when the recapturing index satisfies the predetermined recapturing conditions, and determining the candidate road signs to be the road signs representing a direction in which the vehicle 10 can proceed when the candidate road signs can be detected.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
