To provide a rubber composition serving as the raw material for a vulcanized rubber with superior rubber strength, particularly, a vulcanized rubber suitable as a rubber part of a pneumatic tire.SOLUTION: A rubber composition contains a rubber component and cellulose nanofibers. The cellulose nanofibers are cellulose nanofibers covalently bonded with hydrosilane compounds. When the total amount of the rubber component is 100 pts.mass, the content of the cellulose nanofibers is 0.2-4.0 pt.mass. A vulcanized rubber formed through the vulcanization molding of the rubber composition is especially suitable as a rubber part of a pneumatic tire.SELECTED DRAWING: None
