To provide a battery cooling mechanism which can properly retain a liquid in an intake passage provided at the upstream side of a fan and a battery.SOLUTION: A battery cooling mechanism 40 cools a battery module 20 mounted on a vehicle 1 and includes: a fan 41 which is disposed with an intake port 42 facing downward and blows cooling air to the battery module 20; and an intake passage 60 which is connected to the intake port 42 of the fan 41 and in which the cooling air flows. The intake passage 60 has: a liquid storage part 64 which faces the intake port 42 of the fan 41 and is provided with a sound absorption material 70 having water retentivity; an inclined surface 65 which is provided at the upstream side relative to the liquid storage part 64 and inclines toward the intake port 42 of the fan 41; and a step part 66 provided between a downstream end of the inclined surface 65 and the liquid storage part 64.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
