To provide a power transmission device for an electric vehicle which minimizes elements of a breather mechanism to contribute to simplification of the structure and reduction of costs.SOLUTION: A power transmission device 2 for an electric vehicle includes: a motor 4; an inverter 6 which performs high-frequency control of the motor 4; a power transmission mechanism 12 which has axles 8L, 8R serving as rotary shafts and transmits power of the motor 4 to driving wheels 10L, 10R; a ground conductive member 14 which contacts with the axle 8R at the right side in the figure; and a sealing space part 16 which seals an installation portion of the conductive member 14. The sealing space part 16 communicates with an inverter chamber 20 serving as an existing space part including a pressure adjustment member 18 through a ventilation passage 22.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
