To provide a rotational load device capable of generating a rotational reaction force solely through mechanical components.SOLUTION: This rotational load device comprises: a rotary shaft 15 having, on its outer periphery, a cam groove 29, the axial position of which changes along the circumferential direction; an outer ring 16 having, on its inner periphery, an axial groove 28, extending in the axial direction; a steel ball 17 which comes into rolling contact with both the cam groove 29 and the axial groove 28; a cylindrical retainer 18 which holds the steel ball 17 in a retaining hole 30 formed to penetrate in the radial direction; and an elastic member 19 which biases the retainer 18 in the axial direction. The rotational load device applies a rotational reaction force to the rotary shaft 15 utilizing the elastic force transmitted from the elastic member 19 to the inner surface of the cam groove 29 through the retainer 18 and the steel ball 17.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
