An apparatus for installing a weight body and a method for installing a weight body are provided. The apparatus for installing a weight body includes: a support frame having a support plate disposed in a horizontal direction, a support block which is formed on the support plate and in which a weight body is mounted on an upper end part, and a plurality of support parts extended from a lower portion of the support plate to the ground surface to support the support plate; a transporter having a lift unit capable of lifting in a vertical direction, wherein the lift unit is positioned in the lower portion of the support plate to lift the support plate; a first support member which is inserted between the support part and the ground surface when the lift unit is ascended to lift the support plate upward; and a second support member which is inserted between the support plate and the lift unit when the lift unit is descended to be spaced from the support plate.
