The present invention relates to a gaze tracking device and a method for detecting the pupils thereof which restore and detect the pupils by using feature points around the eyes if portions of the pupils are covered with the eyelids when a user blinks the eyes. The method comprises the following steps of: obtaining an eye image through a camera; checking an eyelid drooping degree in the eye image; and detecting the pupils through a pupil restoration algorithm in accordance with the eyelid drooping degree.

    본 발명은 사용자가 눈을 깜빡일 때 눈꺼풀에 의해 동공의 일부가 가려지면 눈 주변의 특징점을 이용하여 동공을 복원하여 검출하는 시선추적장치 및 그의 동공검출방법에 관한 것으로, 카메라를 통해 눈 영상을 취득하는 단계와, 상기 눈 영상에서 눈꺼풀 처짐 정도를 확인하는 단계와, 상기 눈꺼풀 처짐 정도에 따라 동공 복원 알고리즘을 통해 동공을 검출하는 단계를 포함한다.
