The present invention relates to an automatic expansion device which obtains safety of buoyancy by automatically expanding a buoyancy member installed on the outer side of a small vessel such as a fishing boat in emergency. Especially, the automatic expansion device generates gas and heat as a gas generating raw material (20) is reacted since moisture flows into a main body (10) when an emergency situation occurs on buoyancy safety of the vessel. The automatic expansion device obtains the buoyancy safety of the vessel by automatically expanding the buoyancy member (5) connected to the main body as a synthetic resin foaming body (30) is foamed by reaction heat. So, the automatic expansion device provides excellent use convenience and installation workability.
