The present invention provides an apparatus and a method for controlling an engine when starting a hybrid vehicle which can maintain high engine rotation numbers. According to embodiments of the present invention, the apparatus for controlling an engine when starting a hybrid vehicle comprises: a determination unit to collect state information of an ignition switch, a coolant temperature sensor, a high voltage battery, a low voltage battery, and an acceleration pedal position sensor, and determine whether the temperature of an engine is lower than or equal to a first threshold after a vehicle is started to determine whether a BSG operating condition is satisfied if the temperature of the engine is lower than or equal to the first threshold; and a torque calculation unit to collect a required rotation number, a current rotation number, and a pulley ratio of the engine, calculate BSG torque to assist torque of the engine, and generate the calculated BSG torque to increase the rotation number of the engine.

    하이브리드 차량의 시동시 엔진 제어 장치 및 방법이 제공된다. 본 발명의 실시예에 따른 하이브리드 차량의 시동시 엔진 제어 장치는 이그니션 스위치, 냉각수 온도센서, 고전압 배터리, 저전압 배터리, 및 가속페달 위치센서의 상태 정보를 수집하고, 차량이 시동된 후 엔진의 온도가 제1임계값 이하인지를 판단하여 엔진의 온도가 제1임계값 이하이면 BSG의 가동조건을 만족하는지를 판단하는 판단부; 및 엔진의 요구 회전수, 현재 회전수 및 풀리비를 수집하고, 이를 기초하여 엔진의 토크를 보조하기 위한 BSG 토크를 연산하고, 엔진의 회전수를 증가시키도록 연산된 BSG 토크를 발생시키는 토크 연산부;를 포함한다.
