The present invention relates to a driving mode control device for a hybrid vehicle and a method thereof and, more specifically, to a driving mode control device for a hybrid vehicle, which is capable of preventing the over discharge of a specific cell constituting a battery by controlling timing for switching an electric vehicle (EV) mode and a hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) mode based on a cell voltage deviation of a battery installed in a hybrid vehicle, and a method thereof. To achieve the purpose, the driving mode control device for a hybrid vehicle includes: a battery comprising a plurality of cells; a voltage measurement part measuring each cell voltage of the battery; and a control part controlling timing for switching an electric vehicle (EV) mode to a hydric electric vehicle (HEV) mode based on each cell voltage of the battery measured by the voltage measurement part.

    본 발명은 하이브리드 차량의 주행모드 제어 장치 및 그 방법에 관한 것으로, 하이브리드 차량에 탑재된 배터리의 셀 전압 편차에 기초하여 주행모드(Electric Vehicle (EV) 모드, Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) 모드)의 전환 시점을 조절함으로써, 배터리를 구성하는 특정 셀의 과방전을 방지할 수 있는 하이브리드 차량의 주행모드 제어 장치 및 그 방법을 제공하고자 한다. 이를 위하여, 본 발명은 하이브리드 차량의 주행모드 제어 장치에 있어서, 복수의 셀로 구성된 배터리; 상기 배터리의 각 셀 전압을 측정하는 전압측정부; 및 상기 전압측정부에 의해 측정된 배터리의 각 셀 전압에 기초하여 EV(Electric Vehicle) 모드에서 HEV(Hybrid Electric Vehicle) 모드로의 전환 시점을 조절하는 제어부를 포함한다.
