충분한 스페이스가 없더라도 충돌 시의 충격 흡수를 행하는 것. 본 발명에 관한 충격 흡수 부재는, 자동차의 외장재(110)에 인접하여 배치되고, 연장 방향에 직교하는 단면에 있어서, 상기 외장재에 대한 직교 방향의 높이는 상기 외장재를 따른 방향의 폭보다도 큰 부재를 구비한다. 이 구성에 의하여, 제1 부재(122)와 제2 부재(124)가 상이한 방향으로 연장 존재하여 자동차의 외장재(110)에 인접하여 배치되기 때문에, 충분한 스페이스가 없더라도 충돌 시의 충격 흡수를 행하는 것이 가능해진다.
