The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for handling an acceleration pedal malfunction of a driver, comprising: a vehicle information obtaining unit which obtains vehicle information according to an operation of a driver; and a handling unit which detects an acceleration pedal monitoring status based on the vehicle information and determines an acceleration pedal malfunction of the driver based on an opening degree of the acceleration pedal by operation of the driver in the acceleration pedal monitoring status to convert a vehicle mode into a safety mode.

    본 발명은 운전자의 가속 페달 오조작 처리 장치 및 방법에 관한 것으로, 운전자 조작에 따른 차량 정보를 획득하는 차량 정보 획득부 및 상기 차량 정보를 토대로 가속 페달 모니터링 상황을 검출하고 상기 가속 페달 모니터링 상황에서 운전자의 조작에 따른 가속 페달 개도에 근거하여 운전자의 가속 페달 오조작을 결정하여 차량 모드를 안전 모드로 전환하는 처리부를 포함한다.
