In accordance with the present invention, provided is a hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) driven by at least one of an internal combustion engine (ICE) and an electric motor. The HEV includes: an electric motor provided with two sets of multi-phase coils formed to be independently supplied by two different levels of currents from each of the two sets of multi-phase coils; an electric vehicle battery (EVB) formed to provide power for operating the electric motor and connected to one of two sets of three-phase coils; a supercapacitor formed to provide power for operating the electric motor and connected to the other one of the two sets of three-phase coils; and a motor controller formed to calculate a required total power amount of the electric motor based on a power request from a driver for the HEV, determine a power division ratio between the EVB and the supercapacitor, and deliver the required total power amount to the electric motor from the EVB and the supercapacitor in accordance with the determined power division ratio, wherein the supercapacitor has an operation temperature of a broader range than that of the EVB. Therefore, the present invention is capable of improving the entire performance of the vehicle with a high level of power density.

    본 발명은 내연 기관(ICE) 및 전기 모터 중 적어도 하나에 의해 구동되는 하이브리드 전기 자동차(HEV)를 제공한다. HEV는 두 세트의 다중 위상 권선 각각으로부터 두 개의 상이한 레벨의 전류에 의하여 독립적으로 공급받도록 구성된 두 세트의 다중 위상 권선이 구비된 전기 모터; 전기 모터를 작동하기 위한 전력을 제공하도록 구성되고 두 세트의 3상 권선 중 하나에 연결되는 전기 자동차 배터리(EVB); 전기 모터를 작동하기 위한 전력을 제공하도록 구성되고 두 세트의 3상 권선 중 다른 하나에 연결되는 슈퍼커패시터; 그리고 HEV를 위한 운전자로부터 전력 요구에 기초하여 전기 모터의 요구된 총 전력을 계산하고, EVB와 슈퍼커패시터 사이의 전력 분할 비율을 결정하며, 결정된 전력 분할 비율에 따라 EVB 및 슈퍼커패시터로부터 전기 모터로 요구된 총 전력을 전달하도록 구성된 모터 제어기를 포함하고, 여기서 슈퍼커패시터는 EVB보다 더 넓은 범위의 작동 온도를 갖는다.
