According to an embodiment, an optical system comprises first to third lenses disposed along an optical axis in a direction from an object side toward a sensor side. The optical system satisfies 40 degrees <= FOV <= 50 degrees. The object side and sensor side of the first lens are spherical. The first lens has a meniscus shape convex toward the object side. The first lens, the second lens, and the third lens satisfy 1.7 <= nt_1 <= 2.3, satisfy 1.2 mm <= D_1 <= 2.2 mm, 0.15 <= D_1/TTL <= 0.35, 1.5 < D_1/D_2 < 2.5, and 3.0 < D_1/ D_3 < 4.0, and satisfy TTL <= 9 mm, where nt_1 is the refractive index of the first lens, TTL is the distance on the optical axis from the object side of the first lens to the image surface of an image sensor, D_1 is the thickness of the first lens on the optical axis, and FOV is the field of view (FOV) of the optical system. Therefore, the optical system and a camera module with improved optical characteristics can be provided.

    실시예에 따른 광학계는, 물체 측으로부터 센서 측 방향으로 광축을 따라 배치되는 제 1 내지 제 3 렌즈를 포함하고, 상기 광학계는, 40도(degree) ≤ FOV ≤ 50도(degree)을 만족하고, 상기 제 1 렌즈의 물체 측 면 및 센서 측 면은 구면이고, 상기 제 1 렌즈는 물체 측으로 볼록한 메니스커스 형상을 가지고, 상기 제 1 렌즈, 상기 제 2 렌즈 및 상기 제 3 렌즈는, 1.7 ≤ nt_1 ≤ 2.3을 만족하고, 1.2mm ≤ D_1 ≤ 2.2mm 0.15 ≤ D_1/TTL ≤ 0.35 1.5 < D_1 / D_2 < 2.5 3.0 < D_1 / D_3 < 4.0를 만족하고, TTL ≤ 9㎜을 만족한다. (nt_1은 상기 제 1 렌즈의 굴절률이고, TTL은 상기 제 1 렌즈의 물체 측 면에서 이미지 센서의 상면까지의 상기 광축에서의 거리이고, D_1은 광축에서 상기 제 1렌즈의 두께이고, FOV는 상기 광학계의 화각(FOV)을 의미한다.)
