FIELD: power engineering.SUBSTANCE: invention relates to solar batteries (satellites) of space vehicles (spacecraft). Method involves measuring the direction vector on the Sun in an inertial coordinate system, angle between the direction of the sun and the normal to the plane of the spacecraft orbit, as well as the change of a given angle over the turn. Under a certain condition depending on these angular quantities, the current from the SB is measured in the light portion of the orbit loop. Support the orbital orientation of the spacecraft, in which the axis of rotation of the SB, coinciding with the axis of the SB opening, is perpendicular to the plane of the orbit. Current measurements are repeated in the next light section, in this case, the SB is deployed into discrete positions with a given accuracy of orientation to the Sun. Monitoring of the performance of satellites is performed by comparing the values of the current SB for pairs of consecutive light areas, where the current is averaged taking into account the determined distance from the Earth to the Sun and the accuracy of the SB orientation on the Sun.EFFECT: technical result consists in providing the same conditions for measuring the current from the satellites in the course of the spacecraft flight.1 cl, 2 dwg
