A sealing strand for sealing a gap between a fixed structure, such as a B-pillar of a vehicle or an applique, and a moveable structure, like a sliding window. The gap has a gap dimension in a first direction and extends in a second direction which is essentially orthogonal to the first direction. The sealing strand comprises a carrier section and a sealing section. The carrier section includes a fastening portion adapted to attach the sealing strand to the fixed structure, a first connecting portion adapted to be arranged adjacent to the fixed structure, and a second connecting portion adapted to be arranged more distant from the fixed structure. The sealing section includes a surface sealing portion that is connected to the first and second connecting portions of the carrier section and forms a convex bulb adapted to contact an inner surface of the moveable structure.
