This article describes approaches to innovation in the transport industry by the example of describing the principles of implementation of a service model for collecting, processing and consolidating information on traffic flows, including for the purpose of forming automated forecast reports. The relevance of the topic under consideration lies in the peculiarities of the development and mass introduction of innovative technologies in the transport industry associated with the high length of motorways, the regulatory framework under development, and the provision of road safety. This paper considers an approach to the implementation of the service aimed at providing information on key parameters of the traffic flow to users interested in this information. In this case, the introduction of new methods of use, existing and implemented technical, technological and digital solutions allows for the rapid realisation of the innovative potential of the transport industry. The implementation of the service model of collection, processing and consolidation of information on traffic flows will allow for better and more efficient implementation of processes related to the organisation and safety of road traffic, formation of forecasts on the traffic situation, as well as, in the future, to provide operational information to connected, highly automated and fully unmanned vehicles.
