The improvement of DSL technologies has led us to study of new multicarrier modulation techniques such as filtered multitone (FMT) or discrete wavelet multitone (DWMT), as alternatives of discrete multitone (DMT) and carrierless amplitude phase modulation (CAP). We first introduce the basics of the DWMT modulation as a multicarrier evolution with overlapping frames. Then this modulation is detailed and a new fast algorithm presented to perform it. Finally we study the performances of a DWMT transmission scheme in a VDSL environment, with the usual perturbations induced by the wire line as AWGN and radio interferences (RFI).
