In this paper, fiber with active core diameter of 47 /spl mu/m and a pump core diameter of 400 /spl mu/m was used. The fiber length was optimized for the pumping conditions and for the pulse width of the light which was phase conjugated and as a pump source, pigtailed diode laser operating at 940 nm with a maximum power of 20 W was chosen. The lowest SBS threshold was observed if a 10 m long fiber with a doping concentration of 2200 ppm was used.
