Broadband mobile communication and radar sensors are essential elements for advanced safety vehicle and automated driving. Communication-radar integrated systems that can perform wireless communication and radar sensing at the same time with a common radio resource have been studied. Although OFDM-based integrated system is promising because it fits current broadband communication systems, the radar dynamic range with matched filter reception is not satisfactory. To solve the issue, we propose an OFDM communication-radar integrated system using a mismatched filter (MMF) radar reception. Based on the 5G radio specifications, simulations are conducted to verify its performance. Simulation results show that the proposed system can achieve an improved range sidelobe level of lower than -46 dB.
