Compared with common generators, brushless doubly-fed generator (BDFG) has the disadvantages of lower power density and efficiency. In order to overcome these defects, a double stator brushless doubly-fed generator (DSBDFG) has been proposed. However, due to its complicated mechanical structure, the heat dissipation is difficult, resulting in the problem of excessive local temperature rise easily. Therefore, in order to avoid the risk of overheating, accurate calculation of temperature rise for DSBDFG is crucial. In response to this question, a novel equivalent thermal network model is proposed. The correctness of the proposed thermal model is verified by FEM calculation results.
