A novel hybrid laser chain, called SOFIA (solid-state oscillator followed by iodine amplifiers), with a commercial solid state optical parametric oscillator and gaseous narrow-linewidth iodine amplifiers (1315.24 nm) is presented. The laser will pump the optical parametric chirped pulse amplification.
