Second-harmonic generation combined with an electro-optic effect is considered for measuring impulse electric fields. Measurements with nonlinear, electro-optic crystals, namely LiNbO/sub 3/ and KTiOPO/sub 4/, show that phase matching condition can be effectively used for such application.
