Our well approved fluid-based compensation method for thermal lenses was adapted to an end-pumped laser configuration and led to very promising experimental results. Recently we have successfully demonstrated the compensation of thermally induced lenses in transversally pumped laser rods by means of a self-adaptive compensating element (CE) placed inside the laser resonator.
