In this paper, the capability of a generic Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) Line of Sight (LoS) wireless communication simulation framework is demonstrated, that enables arbitrary, non-linear, three dimensional antenna constellations with freely selectable number of elements. In case studies, LoS MIMO gains for a fly-by and a realistic air-to-air refueling mission with different numbers of antennas in aircraft-shape-determined arrays are presented. The results confirm the hypothesis that nearly full MIMO gain is theoretically achievable in realistic airborne scenarios with moderate aircraft distances. A discussion on the practical feasibility of these impressive theoretical values concludes this publication.
