Non-orthogonal multiple Access (NOMA) is an effective 5G remedy that provides increase in networks spectral efficiency and access latency. In order to further upgrade the transmission reliability and achievable rate of NOMA, simultaneous usage of NOMA and cooperative relay transmission (CRS) emerges as an efficient approach. In this study, we present an approach for the performance analysis of NOMA based CRS over Hoyt fading channels. The exact expression for the average achievable rate is derived in the form of converging infinite-series sums of Maijer G functions in order to avoid usage of approximation based on the Gauss-Chebyshev method. Numerical results are provided and they demonstrate the validity of the presented analytical results using Hoyt fading channel.
