The growing issue of traffic congestion is an unavoidable consequence of urban expansion and population growth worldwide. The increase in vehicle ownership has resulted in severe gridlock. Given that human life is irreplaceable, many individuals have lost their lives due to delayed ambulance arrivals. The response time emergency services are crucial during crises, whether for medical, disaster, or defense purposes. Traffic congestion poses the most significant challenge to these responders. Emergency vehicles aim to reach their destinations swiftly without compromising safety. To tackle this problem, a sophisticated traffic management system utilizing adaptive algorithms that respond quickly to changing conditions is necessary. As the ambulance approaches an intersection, the intelligent traffic system adjusts the traffic signal timing accordingly. Implementing this system citywide could reduce delays significantly. Even moment wasted at a red light or in traffic jams diminishes the chances of survival. Therefore, it is essential to grant signal priority to emergency vehicle responses times and improves overall traffic flow. As each second lost to traffic obstacles reduces survival odds, it is vital to provide ambulances with signal priority, enabling them to traverse heavy traffic with minimal delay. This paper introduces a novel IoT-based system designed to achieve this objective.
