Summary form only given. Nd:GdCOB has recently been identified as an efficient diode-pumped self-frequency-doubling crystal. As opposed to the more mature NYAB crystal, Nd:GdCOB can be grown in large size (up to 50 mm in diameter and 120 mm long) with good optical quality. In this work, we investigated a Nd:GdCOB crystal pumped with a twice brighter diode than previously. We thus dramatically increased the performances in the green output power (multiplied by a factor 6). We report here results in cw and in Q-switched operation.
