Worldwide, the rate of population growth is increasing; hence, the number of vehicle users is also increasing, which leads to dense traffic on the road. The level of harmful gases in the air is very high, as petrol or diesel vehicles emit greenhouse gases like CO2 and other harmful gases. Hence, everybody is aware of the need to use electric vehicles for transport, and the main component of the EV is its battery. The performance of the EV completely depends on the battery condition. It should be charged regularly. The project is about developing a wireless charging station to achieve automation in EV charging using an ultrasonic sensor and an Arduino microcontroller. The system is designed to automate the charging mechanism, eliminating the physical wires and cables by detecting the presence of vehicles on the charging spot. The system is completely wireless, providing a clean look to the system. The important components of the system are the Arduino Uno, relay module, ultrasonic sensor, transmitter coil pad, and receiver coil pad. The role of the ultrasonic sensor is to detect the vehicle coming to the charging place where the charging pad is mounted, measure the distance of the vehicle, and activate the charging process. This project is a useful application in the field of EV charging as it focuses on user friendly charging setup, efficiency, and automation for smart charging solutions.
