A moving target indicator (MTI) preceding a coherent integrator causes a degradation in the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR). This negative effect can be reduced by weighting of the MTI output pulses before the integration process. Two examples are given which show the improvement in SNR and detection probability as a result of this weighting.
