What drives companies to provide green aviation solutions? Social responsibility? Customer demand? Lower costs? Efficient operations? Government mandates? Green taxes? For this year's workshop summary, we have taken valuable input from the entire 29th DASC. We had military personnel, vice presidents, engineers, pilots, etc. We observe that people in our industry are quite aware of what they can do to preserve resources. We had assumed that we would observe a large difference between military and civil approaches to being environmentally conscious. We were pleasantly surprised to find that the same concern for the environment can drive action no matter whom and where you are. Like the sophisticated efforts behind innovations in avionics, a careful thought process is usually behind industry environmental initiatives. This year our summary ends with a recommendationa four legged organizational approach for managing and empowering green innovation and execution.
