Vehicular ad hoc network (VANET) has become a challenging area of research in Wireless network domain. In this paper, we have simulated the vehicle movement in Vehicular ad hoc network under different cases of operations of functionalities. Vehicles in VANET distributes warning alerts and safety messages periodically through controlling station (Base Station) having a limited frequency spectrum. Vehicular ad hoc network is an emerging technology for future on road communication due to its property of inbuilt intersection collision warning system, which has been thoroughly studied in this paper. We have analyzed restricted vehicle communication to a particular range using MATLAB. The main emphasis of this paper is to create a simulation environment of VANET based communication model for safe transportation system and its properties with respect to different vehicles.
