This paper presents results of direct measurements of resonance peaks of DNA's and proteins by using a widely-tunable THz source. Direct measurements of transmission and absorption spectra may eventually become a valuable tool for identifying DNA's and proteins based on their unique resonance peaks in the range of 1-3 THz. Probing resonance peaks for DNA's and proteins can be used to monitor changes in DNA-encoded chain in patient's blood for early diagnostic of diseases or gene therapy, and to search for specific signatures of viruses and bacteria or messenger RNA for analysis of metabolic processes.
