CubeSats are small, cube-shaped satellites with their small size making CubeSats a type of nanosatellite. RIDU-Sat is a nano satellite developed by UNHAN RI which aims for research and education in university environments, including supporting communications in disaster emergency situations via the Automatic Packet Reporting System (APRS) payload. The RIDU-Sat currently being developed is the first series, which is expected to develop into the next series. RIDU-Sat 1 is 1 U in size according to CubeSat standards in general.
