The channel estimation problem for massive MIMO systems is a critical issue due to the large dimensions of channel matrix to be estimated within the limited coherence time interval. In this paper, iterative weighted nuclear norm minimization (IWNNM) method based on compressive sensing (CS) technique is proposed for massive multi-user (MU-MIMO) channel estimation problem. Consequently, the regularization parameter of this optimization problem is selected based on cross-validation (CV) curve method. The convergence time of the iterative algorithm is also studied. The simulation results show that the IWNNM estimation method outperforms the standard nuclear norm minimization (NNM) and conventional least square (LS) estimation.
