The design and modelling of an autonomous microcontroller-based small rocket intended for planetary space exploration is described in this paper. The Small Rocket is Driven by a single-use solid rocket motor, and it is controlled by a Raspberry Pi Pico and uses a variety of sensors to gather information. The work presented in this paper is motivated by obstacles encountered in planetary exploration, such as limited mobility to reach difficult terrain. By addressing the drawbacks of conventional rovers, the small rocket hopes to open the door for more efficient and effective exploration of planets. With its ability to overcome mobility limitations and provide real-time data, the small rocket could revolutionize the way we explore celestial bodies. Additionally, the project aims to pave the way for future advancements in space exploration technology, ultimately expanding our understanding of the universe and more efficient and versatile exploration of planets.
