Over-the-horizon radar systems are a crucial component of surveillance and domain awareness networks. This paper proposes an integrated system-of-systems architecture consisting of over-the-horizon radar and global ionospheric situational awareness to maximize the precision of detection and characterization data in support of tactical operations. The paper analyzes a case study, the Chinese ionospheric and aurora monitoring network, as possible example of implementation.
