This paper summarizes the positioning method of the “Jade Rabbit” rover in Chang'e-3 mission. It focuses on the precise localization of the landing point and navigation points for the “Jade Rabbit” rover, and gives the principle and a detailed flow of the localization method. Meanwhile, the results of the landing point and navigation points are also presented to reveal the implementation of the localization method in engineering tasks. Finally, the accuracy analysis of the localization method is carried out and the factors affecting the localization accuracy are given, which provides the basis for the future work on improving the localization method.
