In conventional noncoherent radar pulse integration (NCPI), the radar receiver sums the envelope detector outputs obtained in multiple pulses from the target within one scan. A novel modification to NCPI is proposed in which the receiver first normalizes the envelope detector output in each range bin by the sum of envelope detector outputs corresponding to all range bins of a pulse. It is shown that the proposed scheme yields significant performance gain against noise jamming.
