The rapid expansion of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) across various industries has highlighted the growing need for efficient power delivery systems. Wireless charging (WC), which eliminates the physical limitations of traditional charging methods, offers a promising solution. However, the integration of wireless charging with UAVs introduces unique challenges, particularly due to their dynamic nature, misalignment issues, and the power requirements of onboard systems. This paper provides a comprehensive analysis of the state of wireless charging technology for UAVs, examining the challenges UAVs face during charging, particularly under dynamic flight conditions. Additionally, various solutions, including adaptive charging algorithms, advanced magnetic field design, and anti-offset technologies, are discussed to ensure reliable and efficient power transfer. The paper concludes by highlighting future research directions to improve the scalability and practicality of wireless charging systems for UAVs.
