L-Band Digital Aeronautical Communication System (L-DACS) is the new future terrestrial datalink system recognized in the ICAO roadmap to support the future ATM concepts. LDACS is a wide-band data link for Air-Ground communications which will provide services in all flight phases (En-Route, TMA and Airport) and support ATS B2 services as well as future (B3) applications (e.g. Full Trajectory-Based Operations, SWIM to the cockpit, Advanced Interval Management and Dynamic RNP). Together with SATCOM and AeroMACS, LDACS is one of the three new data links on which the Future Communication Infrastructure (FCI) global system connectivity is based. ICAO is developing global standards for LDACS and draft SARPS have been developed in 2018 [1].
