This paper describes an approach to object matching in aerial images using Hausdorff distance. Instead of applying the pointwise comparison procedure in terms of the Hausdorff distance, the detection of the interesting points in image regions is introduced to guide the search for the best fit between two image sets. Such a guided matching scheme based on the Hausdorff distance improves the conventional blind comparison procedure and speed up the operation. It can be further implemented in parallel.<>
