In order to reduce the congestion near bus stops, optimal design of bus stops through redesigning berth assignment was proposed in previous research. Three principles were raised to guide the berth assignment planning, however which principle played a more significant role was not discussed before. In this paper how to plan berth assignment for an actual multi-berth bus stop and which principle is more important are further discussed. The simulation results based on field observed data manifest the ratio of inflow rate in the former berth to that in the latter berth is a bit more significant.
